Lombok Island has virgin white beaches, an age-culture separated by merely a narrow strait from Bali.
It is in fact a refection of the motto : " You can see Bali in Lombok, but no Lombok in Bali".
The Balinese people still make up an important minority in the in the western part of the island. The town of Cakranegara is mainly inhabited by Balinese.
There are Hindu's temples built by Anak Agung Karang in 1920, the king of Karang Asem, Bali.
Lombok as a new tourist destination can be reached in 20 minutes by air and two hours by sea from Bali.
